| Estimated fighters (eg. local count): | 220 -A- vs 670 Providence. Local peaked at 650 |
| Battle Date: | June 9, 1800-2200 |
| Battle outcome: | -A- held the field with overwhelming number of kills. |
-A- formed up last night with about 180 in gang. After messing around for a bit, -A- decided to head to D-G and cause some havoc. Once in the system, they hit both jump bridges and the cynojammer. They then went to the station and took a few potshots at the station services.
It was at this point that a hostile cyno went up. Around 50-100(?) hostiles bridged through with -A- quickly warping in at close range – presumably they’d intended to come in at snipe range, but something went wrong. Either way, they made short work of about a dozen hostile ships before they made it into the POS shields.
Not wanting to force a fight at a hostile tower, -A- warped to a planet to regroup and repair. More hostiles bridged in and they had a fight. For the next three hours, they’d fight at that same planet. Their enemies would weave in and out trying to get position on us, with BS groups at sniping range or warping in to close range. Bubbles would go up all over the place – there were 7 hictors and no less than 36 dictors in the battle, all but one hictor and seven dictors died in the fighting. During at least two points, it was believed that hostiles had pulled back and -A- wrote their GFs in local, only for the hostiles to come back in force and the battle was on again.
While local peaked at 650, there were a total of around 220 -A- and 670 providence ships involved, as people who lost ships came back to fight more. This number does not include pods.
-A- did win the battle and held the field in the end, but both sides claims they had a whole lot of fun.
Final tally was 50 lost -A- ships, including 20 battleships. Providence residents brought a total of 670 ships, out of which 376 were lost (133 battleships).

More than us who has discovered the joys of Providence ;D
holy shit im jealious
thats a ridiculously lopsided victory.
This battle report says by ander on the front page. That needs to be fixed.
This is a bug, it was a moderator (Pallidum) that posted the report and somehow wp is stupid and autosaved when I was in editing mode on this report.
However, due to a wp limitation. If the usergroup of the user is editor you don't get the dropdown list to select post_author. If the original author had been either normal user or subscriber it would've given me that option.
Silly yes, and I'll fix it soon(TM).
Bug is now fixed. See development thread.
Yay! Awesomestuff! I have a name, I'm famous!

I myself scored 40+ kills in that battle. My husband did the same. One of our guys scored 119 kills last I checked.
As one of our enemies said on SHC, it wasn't until after the battle that the FC was informed about the gun cycling bug. D'oh!
I was part of the "Proviblob" and I can honeslty say from our side of things the lag was unplayable - hence why the field was abandonded. THe grids took 4 minutes to load and -A- had the advantage in that dept as they were loaded up and did not have to leave Planet 1 the entire fight. It was mstated that -A- notified GM's to reinforce the grid but the grid was not enforced. THe next time -A- comes in with those numbers and the grid is not reinforced I can assure you they will not get a fight. I will say it again ... The batttle 1) did not really last 3 hours 2) was not playable from the Provi side 3) Was over not due to losses but due to lag. We simply had no choice but to abandon the field. CCP needs to come up with some means to adaptively reinforce grids based on demand.
I also want to mention that -A- needs to get off your asses as well when we come to play. Two nights ago a 50 man HAC fleet from Provi went to two highly populated -A- systems trying to get a fight and they just stayed docked. We ended up getting one stupid Myrm at their JB in GE. The least you guys could do is return the damn favors.
Work FTL I wasnt there either. We went on saturday again and downed a bridged and basically were told that no fight would happen = (.
One of our members got on 119 mails lol.
