Imagine: The Saga of BoB, Goons, Kenny, and the South

I was sent this via eve mail from Eleuthereus of [HIRR] MORSUS MIHI. Its not a battle report but i think with all the craziness going on today it is something to start a thread off about 49-U6U about to fall. Below is the info from the youtube video description.
The most epic destruction of an alliance in the online universe of Eve. The death, long-coming and much-deserved, of Band of Brothers — set to the famous Imagine by John Lennon. Sung by yours truly. Video editing by yours truly (created by borrowing liberally from available videos taken by other pod pilots in Eve). Morsus Mihi is the best Mihi.
IMAGINE (The Saga of BoB, Goons, Kenny, and the South) Imagine theres no Kenny, Its easy if you try, No more ranting from SirMolle, No more forums full of lies. Imagine everyone in Eve, Finally flying free. They once were known as Band of Brothers, PvPrs so elite, So said their leader, Molle, But all they really did was cheat, Imagine everyone in Eve, Finally flying free. You may say Im a dreamer, But I can see it coming true, Fortress Delves been torn up, And all the stations I see are blue, They said theyd torture us forever, Max Damage was their plan, Until a brother they called Hargoth, Said to the Goons, I understand, And so the end of BoB began, When Hargoth pushed the button to disband, The Goons began taking over, The Coalition joined the fun, Well keep purging every system, Until the day our job is done.

Now that's some PROPAGANDA. But still, nicely sung ^^

Edit: Disclaimer: By no means is the propaganda posted in the video a representative view of BattleDB and by no means do we accuse anyone of cheating.
Sometimes the propaganda from the other side is the best propaganda.
Ahh they finally put a video to the song.

I have been listening to that song waay to much in mp3 form already I am sad to say
Great job eleuth, loved every minute of it
Half of the footage from this video is stolen from one of my videos,
i have never been asked if its ok to do so,
nor does the guy who made it give me any credit for my work.
scenes are stolen from my delve war II video at:

First, while I do appreciate you bringing your concern to us. You arent exactly the original creator of the music you use in your video.
But if you'd like credits you should probably ask the video creator.
Also, it's kind of hard for a thirdparty such as BattleDB to find out who captured the original EVE video photage when news are posted to use.
Additionally, it's game video photage which neither you or the guy who sang the song can claim copyright on. Although I tend to agree that credit should be due where credit is due. My best advise to you is to simply speak to the guy who composed the song and edited together matching video to it.
BattleDB has not made this video nor do we host it, but we believe it to be fair use to link to it.
Peter has a valid point in his case. The original work should be credited at the end, thou asking for permission is not required since you're sharing the content without attaching any kind of creative commons/etc license with it.

Dunno never saw it on youtube, and eve videos usually have everything important in the videos

If you want to talk copyright/owndership, then CCP would be the only one who could claim rights to YOUR fraps, TBH. So you first stole game footage -- from CCP.
And what's that music you used for your footage? Did you get permission to use that from Ultravox or whoever might own the rights today? I didn't think so.
cya in Delve.......oh wait, sry, I forgot.....cya in Jita.
P.S. As another poster stated, I noted in my info section that the material was originally shot by others: "Video editing by yours truly (created by borrowing liberally from available videos taken by other pod pilots in Eve)." If you like, I'd more than happy to name you and your video in the info section. I'll repost here when that has been edited.
Dear PP,
I hope this is acceptable. You now have full credit in the info section of youtube....
usually its better to first talk to the other party that is using your footage/whatever. I have had people steal tons of my editing of audio and video in this community so far. Sometimes people are good about it but mostly people give a damn and will tell you where to stick it. I try to put credit for everything here i can because i want people to know who has credit for it. if i am wrong it gets updated.
Hell the first vegas meet dev talk recording i was hosting and made was ripped off by eve radio, i asked them to not host it and they told me to get fucked in so many words. The US copyright for the audio didn't cover them in Europe bla bla yakity shmackity. BTW fuck the people that "run" eve radio, not the people who dj or do other stuff, they are pretty cool.
PP you should feel lucky that he updated the youtube video description. Shows he wasn't out to take credit for your video captures just wanted some cool stuff on the video while his song was playing.
a few points of clarification:
- i did not want to start a caod style flamewar here.
- i got rather pissed by seeing my footage in a video by our hostiles, without even naming me
- the images from me used / the video recordings from me used where recorded by me, cutting that stuff was alot of work and this type of work is a creative creation process which makes me the author of those part, compare it to someone making an image of a BMW - which would make him the author of that image, not BMW
- the music used on my video (which is not relevant to this discussion anyways) is given credit, also the music can be identified by tools from content identification systems like those by vobile or audible magic. Nuclear Blast (the independend label of the band which made the recording i used(edguy, not ultravox)) can either share business rules with those, and ensure they get paid for the use of their song on the video plattforms, or they can send down an automated takedown notice, as other labels have done with videos i did before.
- i did not blame battledb for any of this, but since its one of the most used links for this video i feel this comments the right place to mention it.
pff dont apologize if you managed to start a flamewar, that in itself should be the goal of any forum post made.
The song was original, the clips are generic fraps.
