Battle Name: Battle in WU9 – June 26 23:00
Alliances involved: PL, Goons vs. IRC, ED
Lag: None
Estimated fighters (eg. local count): 200
Battle Date: June 26 23:00
Battle outcome: 10 Carriers, 2 Dreads and mixed support dead to medium losses

After a night of failures and source of much rage in Curse, PL got word of IRC/ED assaulting newly deployed XIX towers in WU9- with two dozen caps and about 120 mixed support.

Given XIX had gone to bed, the IRC/ED group was feeling rather safe it seemed and thus didn’t really flinch about our 70 mixed HAC gang heading towards them through IRC populated systems to our suprise. Perhaps they were looking for a fight just as bad as we were. We regrouped few jumps out, got cov ops into position on hostile caps and burned into system destroying a Myrmidon & Phobos on the gate we entered from.

As we had burned out of the bubbles — hostile support started trickling into our gate eager to end our little folly there and then. Free fire on frigates was called, while dictors were popped on the way as well. About 15 Goons entered the system after us, now jumping to 100 or so IRC/ED on the gate @ 20km since Solo Drakban had seen it fit to purge the Jabber DBs minutes before we were due to go in, hence cutting comms with the Goons and us. Goons started to die rapidly, but importantly IRC/ED were now without support.

Hence we burned closer and started work on hostile BSes which now started to fall quickly without scoring kills given they now had no support left. To our suprise — 10-12 carriers entered the field on the gate for some weird reason, perhaps to try to rep the BSes. They came too late as support had almost been dealt with and with about 12 Dreads still bubbled on the POS — we warped off the field leaving carriers behind to go put fire on the dreads.

Primary Dread was taking heavy fire, now entering structure when hostile Carriers (about 12) entered field again and put reps on the Dread. For a moment it looked like the dread was going to fell, but then a heroic Thanatos entered triage and repped him faster than we could dish out DPS. Of course, said carrier in triage quickly took the bullet in the neck for his efforts since he could not be repped by the other carriers on the field.

Chimeras were called next, each falling faster than the next given reduced remote repping after each carrier fell. Dreads started to bail as carriers/dreads put light drones on the dictors holding them down. In the end, 10 Carriers and 2 Dreads went down along with the mixed support before hand on the gate.

PL and remaining Goons headed home on their roams, and both groups got into further scraps afterwards. Unfortunately, I had headed to bed at that point — so it’s up to someone else to write up those reports.
