Burn Eden Titan Down

So Sunday seemed a little slow, an alarm clock op had been well and truely screwed by a Goon hotdrop.  But a pub lunch had gone down a treat and we were ready to roam.  Q was the destination and 6 of us flew out with high hope of blotting out the early morning disaster.

What followed was a boring, uneventful roam through Q and Delve with no targets, so we headed back with only 2 kills under our belt.  The evening op was due and we wanted to get some action.  On the way back the intel channels were full of a ZAF gang (20-50 depending who you believe) that were roaming right along our path back.  Obviously the 4 of us that were left and hadn’t logged stood no chance except to avoid them and try to get back to the op.

As the nights op was forming we let the FC know we were camped in 6 jumps from the staging point and we’d be late.  Given the size of the gang the FC bought out the op to meet us and try and get an early fight.  Whilst this was bein set up and hapless corp member running in a shuttle ignored warning and blundered into the ZAF camp, he made it through 2 systems being chased by them but got cught in a bubble in the third.  This took the ZAF/KIA gang into the clutches of the Klingons with our op fleet making it after the fight had started.  This was a quick fight and the ZAF/KIA group left the area.

So we head back to regroup and change ships from roaming to Fleet.  As we reach 2 out we here “Burn Eden titans pilots have both just logged in”, then a few seconds later “the BE cyno alts are in system in 6QBH”.  The trap is obvious and with the correct intel we are ready.  FC calls for Hictors to jump and a get to a safe spot ready to warp to the cynos.  Then BS’s to jump in align and engage tank (all BS’s should be DD proof), and we’re on.

So the support sits on the gate ready to jump, the Hictors and in position, and BS’s jump in, align, and engage tank.  There’s a silent few seconds on comms, noone speaks, cursors hovering over the jump/warp buttons ready.  Then all hell breaks lose, the cynos are up.

“Hictors warp to the cynos” is the cry, “BS warp out and back”, “bubble the titan and shout when you have him”.  “Support jump in”, “bubble that fucker”.  The hero Hictor pilot shouts “bubble up”, “all pilots warp in”.

What follows is a few minutes of madness, hictors and dictors dropping bubble like they’re going out of fashion, support getting as close as they can and bumping the stranded Erebus so he can’t align.  FC calling for everyone to jump in the newly replaced dreads, shiny and read for their first victim; a titan.  Dreads warp in and enter seige this is do or die no care for the ships lets just kill this titan that has claimed so many of our friends in the local systems this summer.

The field is awash with ships and wrecks the titan is going down, we have him tackled, but can we keep him that way before the back up that is obviously going to come makes it.  As he enters structure theres a cyno close to him, and suddenly flash after flash as BRICK capitals enter the system to save a friend.  The carriers immediate try to rep him and take out anything that looks like a dictor or hictor.  Wrecks lay across the battle field more blue that red for now,  all those brave support pilots giving their ships to get a titan kill.  Blue cyno are also going up everyone with range wants in to kill this titan, ship pour into the system. The last few percent of structure seem to take and age. ……… then BOOM!!!!!, comms goes mad with all the pilots shouting and whooping like they’re just won the lottery.

Voices of sense then cut across this all, we are still in a slugfest and theres no guarantee we’re not going lose every ship we have out for the sake of that kill.  Primaries are called and start going down another cyno lights and is extinguished with seconds are the support fleet mob him.  Dreadnaughts start dying one by one, the field has bubble as far as anyone can see.  This fight is going to be huge.  One by one the enemy caps fall, the dreads first then the carriers. a few support ships are in there too.  Finally what seems like and age later the field is cleared of all remaining hostiles.  Comms once again goes wild we’ve done it we’ve killed them for minimal loses.  The first hictor to tackle has all previous wrongs expunged from his record, he’s the man of the moment.  We stay in the field to allow all caps to finish seige cycles and leave the field thenit’s picked clean.

This feels like a revenge for the mornings ass kicking.  There is nothing but good things on the minds of the pilots as they fill their holds with fighters and mods.

Props to the fleet for getting a titan, Props to Brick and Burn eden for bringing it, especially when the outlook was bad, and uber Props to Cosner the Hictor pilot who braved a double DD to get the tackle in.
