Thirdparties: DICE (good guys), Snigge Waffe (Bad Guys)
Lag: Terrible
Estimated fighters (eg. local count): 890
Battle Date: 6th September 2009, 14:00-16:00
Battle outcome: Bad guys blobbed to death

As per the previous reports we were called in to back up -A- who were taking down 3 high end moons in Low sec, that had ben previously reinforced and had timers that were ideal for euro Sunday afternoon pew pew.

We made the trek to the system and held on the in gate to Irmalin and prepared for a lag fest.  Everyone changed setting to lag friendly running and we jumped in, warping at sniping range to the PoS.

When we hit the field the -A- dread where already pounding the tower hard, with the PL and GS pilots flying in and around the pos shields.  Support was sent in to tackle and primaries were called.  It started slow with ships able to warp out and back before the tackles were on them, or getting back inside the shields and becoming unlocked.  Then the tower popped and the reds started dropping hard, tacklers were doing their job well and we were picking them off one by one.  They fought back whilst trying to escape but the shere volume of pilots on the field meant a large number were melted.

Eventually the last of the reds cleared the field and we waited for the dreads to jump out and agression timers to finish.   Then we headed over to the second target for the day, by the time we got there the tower was already dead but we played cat and mouse with the red fleet, until we finally caught up with each other on planet 7.  We started at close range and again tacklers did their job trying to lock down what we could.  Lag was much less of an issue this time and it was a closer fight in terms of numbers.  Sys-k held the field once again.

So we tidied up and headed home.

In general lag and numbers won this fight over anything else, good fights had by both sides i think.  These sort of battles make Eve what it is, but having said that we managed to prepare for the lag before jumping into system so settings were changed before the lag hit, this allowed for a smoother fight then the previous reporter.

Makes me wish the system would handle a way to interlink the two versions. And how that would work correctly is beyond me right now. But kick ass back to back versions.

  4. I'm sorry my reports don't have SS's and fraps in them i never remember to take them. Mind you i got to pop Ander in this fight so i should have captured that
