Breaking News!!!!!! – SHC – ISD violating Coldfront users’ privacy!

In late breaking news from this weekend, IP addresses from Kugutsumen.com are being harvested and leaked from CCP Dev Blogs by certain individual(s) who are involved with both IRC Coldfront and ISD.  This is preliminary information and will be updated and fixed if any of the info is found to be false.

Why is this a big deal you may ask?  Well its a very big conflict of interest when it is linked to CCP volunteers.  CCP (in any form) has no business releasing IP address lists to anyone not covered by their privacy policy.  It may also be very illegal according to their own privacy policy to do such a thing.

That list when merged with other site IP logs could give a large advantage to anyone involved.  I mean hell wouldn’t a ton of people want an IP list of all other EVE players to make alliance/corp sites incredibly secure.  Or for some people that are intent on DDOS’ing certain players IP’s to gain an advantage during a fleet battle,  ie: DDOS a fleet commander at the right moment and massive advantage gained with that fleet commander out of the fight.

[rage:on] Being someone that holds privacy policies on a high level (especially this sites rules for IP Privacy) I am seriously looking for CCP to do a serious amount of house cleaning and fire/get rid of all that were involved.  There is no way in hell i would ever violate BattleDB.com users privacy by using any of their details for anything but the administration of this site and this site alone.  [rage:off]

Now there is also a question of why MarKand is the person quoted.  Well he was the original person quoted from SHC.  His involvement in this is completely unknown and no links to him have been found.  He also claims that his SHC account was compromised and now banned.  I doubt he has any involvement in this affair.  But i will leave his name in the quote in case his account being compromised is part of the story.

1/ CCP Ginger is letting a ISD volunteer harvest IP address from the CCP Dev Blog. ISD. That’s a violation of privacy.
2/ Sabaoth works both for Coldfront and ISD and pass private information between the two entities. Violation of privacy and conflict of interest.
