Default Pure Blind/X-7OMU - Battle for Wildly Inappropriate. Jewgold

Bear in mind that I'm writing this about a fight that happened yesterday(or two days ago I can't remember) so many of the unimportant details are probably slightly innacurate.

PL formed up in X-7 with a roughly 80 person fleet to kill a Wildly Innapropriate r64 coming out of rf. Probably at least 60 rrbs at first w/ the rest in guardians, dictors, bombers and other shit. SniggWaffe also tagged along for the fun in bombers. We ended up facing several NC alliances with some in larger numbers than others. I believe Razor was there in very small numbers, probably in bombers or something. I'm pretty sure WI, Morsus Mihi, and Mostly Harmless were the main combatants since they brought both caps and a subcap fleet with rrbs, dictors, and you... Click here to read the full report.. when bombers came out i fell in love with the idea. They were just missing something. The changes seemed to have helped a lot. I am so excited to see them being used more and more. Bombers alone will prob make me become active in the current PL battles. I use to be the lone fag in the bomber inside the shields firing bombs at bob blobs outside the shields. Didnt do too much to them solo, but man can they take out tons of drones and keep people on their toes.

Did you read what phreeze wrote on shc about bombers in last night's fight? Apparently a few people in his corp came in bombers and anchorable containers filled with around 60 bombs. Used up all the ones in cargo and the ones in the anchored cans during the fight just firing them off at any blob they saw. Bombs were going off pretty much everywhere throughout the fight. You get stuff like that and then hearing about goons taking out over 100 bs with well coordinated bombing runs. It's just amazing how much damage a small group of well coordinated bombers can do.

It's amazing how ccp turned them from a joke ship that can get soloed by the very ship type they're supposed to excel against to these hilariously effective minidoomsdaymobiles. That's not even taking into account the dps they can get with torps.

PL's fleet started around 80, but I think we hit 100 just as the fight started. Scouts reported about 70 hostile BS and support, and I think we saw about 40 caps (~15 dreads, ~25 carriers) at the POS when things got hot. I think initial numbers were pretty even. Certainly, NC had more caps initially (we didn't use any until the end).

As we warped to the POS, we left behind a suicide dictor who's job it was to slow down the NC BS and support fleet with bubbles on the gate. It worked well as no NC subcaps were on the field when the cyno went up on the POS. We got lucky with the cyno dying not so fast that no NC caps got in but fast enough that only a couple made it thru. I saw 3 carriers at the POS when the cyno died. We got 2 before the rest were able to get into system/warp to the POS from wherever they scattered on jumpin. We stayed for a bit fighting it out with NC caps, BS and support. It was awesome in that bombers from both sides were bombing stuff while RRBS, carriers and dreads were shooting. I got out of that initial fight with 135 structure left on my trimarked geddon (glad I fitted the trimarks) even while receiving lots of RR love.

As noted, we went back in when scouts reported carriers in triage at the hostile POS. We killed a few, then NC BS and support warped back in again (they were camping our station I believe). Again, carriers, dreads, BS and support were fighting it out while bombers made bomb runs wherever they felt they would be most effective. Again, PL left the field and regrouped at our POS.

After scouting a bit and realizing that the NC support fleet was pretty well decimated, we decided to switch to dreads. We caught and killed what we could outside the POS, then took down the POS and killed what couldn't get out due to our bubbles.

After the POS was dead and hostiles cleared out, another type of fight started. PL support went to work looting the field while hostile bombers (NC and Maru) began a game of cat and mouse. Bombers would setup on weak targets and try to bomb them and get out before PL support could lock and kill them. Killing wrecks and fighters/drones was a secondary goal of the bombers, I'm sure. This phase of the fight didn't end until the POS was up and all the loot was collected.

In a tribute to the efficiency of the PL looters, every surviving wreck on the field was salvaged less than 2 minutes after the POS died.

That's the fight as I remember it.
